  1. It is impressive when a CEO takes a progressive and forward-thinking stance for such a public company… and it is good news that he is getting such good results… perhaps his personal experience will help people get early detection and develop a pro-active method for dealing with the inevitable when it strikes…???

  2. “For more than a decade Martin knew there was a chance he could develop multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that, left unchecked, first destroys the bones and then everything else. For more than a decade Martin knew there was a chance he could develop multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that, left unchecked, first destroys the bones and then everything else.”

That passage raises the following questions:

    – Had he understood that it was 1-2 % PER YEAR ? Had any doctor told him that after 10 y. the figure would be very different..?

I feel he was so taken up by his job that he didn’t really dig right into the problem until too late.
Keeping busy is one thing ,but sticking to the very same way of life that led to the development of MM might not be such a good idea.( well, in my opinion anyway and no personal experience…)

“In the face of uncertainty, he did what CEOs do: He prioritized.” come to think of it…whose life is CERTAIN ? and who does NOT prioritize ? CEO ‘s are just paid for that while I am NOT but I prioritize it all day long, all life long !!

And last but not least, I hope he is taking high dose curcumin by now !

  3. I too have my colleague and CEO immediately told that I have MM. But now there are more people who do not know what’s wrong with me. I doubt if I should tell or not. I have my limitations, so what is wisdom?
