Emergency trip to the U.S.A.

We’ve had a family emergency: my Mom fell down in the living room and fractured her hip a few days ago. She’s in the hospital now and has already had an operation to put three screws into her hip. So far so good. When I spoke with her yesterday, she was already out of bed, sitting in a chair, having lunch. But my parents are going to need some help in the next few weeks. So I’m leaving for the States tomorrow…

I find myself apologizing (again!) to those of you who have written to me and have not yet received a reply. I really need an assistant! 😉 A helpful hint: whenever you have a question, please use the blog’s “Search” box (in the upper right-hand corner) first, before dropping me a note, I mean. That Search box is such a handy tool: I use it myself from time to time, in fact. I mention this because often I see that many of your queries have already been answered on the blog…

That said, I’ll try to answer every single message when I get back to Italy in early March. That’s the best I can do. This has been a horrendously busy period for me, and the next few weeks are going to be hectic, too…Still, sorry about the wait!!! Really really sorry…

Okay, I’ve been up since 4:30 AM, and I have about a million errands to do today, so off I go. Take care, everyone!!! 🙂

  1. I’m so sorry to read that your Mom was injured. I wish we were neighbors so I could offer/give some
help. I will be thinking of you and your Mom and praying for her well-being. Best regards, Maria

  2. I BELIEVE I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING YOUR MOTHER. SHE BECAME A PATIENT OF MINE WHEN I ADMITTED HER TO THE MUGAR 6 FLOOR AT CAPE COD HOSPITAL AFTER A FALL AT HOME. I AM AN RN WORKING ON THAT UNIT. SHE TOLD ME ABOUT YOUR BLOG, AND THE USE OF CURCUMIN. I HAVE BEEN GIVING IT TO MY ALZHEIMER’S PATIENTS THAT I CARE FOR OUTSIDE OF THE HOSPITAL FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. AFTER READING YOUR BLOG, I HAVE DECIDED TO GIVE IT TO MY HUSBAND WHO IS A PAINTER AND WORKS AROUND CHEMICALS ALL THE TIME. FOR MYSELF I USE IT TO TREAT A TENNIS ELBOW. I WARM COCONUT OIL, ADD TURMERIC UNTIL IT IS DESOLVED, THEN ADD ALMOND MILK AND HEAT UNTIL WARM. I THEN ADD CRACKED BLACK PEPPER AND A DAB OF HONEY TO TASTE. I TAKE THIS THREE TIMES A DAY. I HAVE JUST STARTED THIS SO I WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS. CARING FOR YOUR MOTHER WAS DELIGHTFUL. I HOPE HER REHABILITATION PROCESS GOES SMOOTHLY. A FEW TIMES I HEARD HER SPEAKING ON THE PHONE WITH HER HUSBAND, YOUR FATHER? IT MELTED MY HEART TO HEAR THE LOVE IN HER VOICE.

  3. Margaret, I am a breast cancer survivor and first heard about curcumin through Dr. Aggarwal’s studies. I took it for several years and the company couldn’t keep it in stock. Unfortunately I cannot remember what company I bought it from. I would really appreciate knowing what brand you use or what brand you recommend because at this point everyone and his brother is producing curcumin, and I don’t know which brand to trust. Thank you.
