February 1 2011 post (see post comments for more info). Here is an interesting abstract on the synergistic effect of Arabinoxylan rice bran and curcumin on a myeloma cell line: http://goo.gl/hL8jP I mean, rice bran and curcumin work together to kill myeloma cells??? Fantastico! Hey, pass the cereal!!!
Okay, okay, it’s not that simple. This seems to be a special sort of rice bran, probably a concentrated form of something or other, not the regular stuff you might find inside a box at the supermarket…
Maybe we need to give more attention to this product. Biobran is available as a supplement albeit a little pricy. It appears to work on its own and also enhances curcumin or vice versa. Studies at UCLA and Drew Medical College.

here is the direct faculty link without going through the pharma company that makes the biobran.

That is a good price. was impressed with the reversal of BJP in the study mentioned
My husband has colon cancer and I was using for him biobran. We made some blood test and it seems that he has 2650 of IL-8 while norms is 15. In a mean time I checked that biobran makes IL-8 to increase http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18336734 . And IL-8 is involved in progression and metastasis of cancer http://www.cormorantpharma.com/science/il-8-and-cancer-stem-cells-in-other-cancers/ , so I am not sure if biobran is so good as they tell us.
Hi Anna
My dad has colon cancer as well, he has also started using biobran . I guess its not good since its leads to proliferation of cancer cells? Is your husband still taking it ?
