My cousin, grazieee!, sent me the link to an Italian news article about a young French couple who began a three-year, 15,000-kilometre walk (!) from Miami, Florida, U.S.A. to Uschuaia, Argentina, last year…on a daily budget of just one euro (!).
Well, truth be told, I wouldn’t have paid much attention to this story if there had not been a cat involved. A a stray kitty, you see, joined the couple when they arrived in Louisiana and has been traveling with them ever since. Awww, she is the cutest thing ever…makes me wish that I could train one of my cats to ride on my shoulder…hah, fat chance!
At any rate, especially if you are a cat lover, you must check out the 21 walking-cat photos at the following link (keep clicking on the word “Successivo” above each photo): http://www.repubblica.it/2006/08/gallerie/gente/gatto-mondo/1.html Fantastico!!!
Hi Margaret;
I once had a cat, Electric Bill, who rode on my shoulders when I would walk to the store. I called her Electric Bill because my girlfriend insisted on leaving the lights on in our apartment when we were gone.
I would love to have three years off to walk from the Us to Argentina… without cats, though, and certainly not on such a strict budget 😀
A cute story. But I’m surprised the cat didn’t bolt off at first opportunity, such as when it has to go to the bathroom. My cats will ride on my shoulder, but they want to get off after about five minutes.
