Hmmm - the double-edged sword. Too much iron defeats the benefit of curcumin, but too little means depressed hemoglobin. Yikes.

Maybe I'll just settle for whatever iron comes along in the food, as I have been doing.

Excellent blog today, Margaret. You put in a lot of work on them.
I have metallic fillings in my teeth which are decades old. My
Haematologist says "leave them alone" so does my dentist, but I feel uneasy knowing that with every bite I take some dangerous
molecules come off the fillings and enter my system.
I have just finished reading "The Enzyme Factor" by Prof.
Hiromi Shinya,MD,a leading gastroenterologist, who says we
should chew each bite of food 40 to 70 times. ( Releasing
More nanoparticles of heavy metal?)
I consume a fair amount of turmeric with my food, but no
curcumin (not yet). It's a dilemma.

BTW I saw the consultant on Monday who said there was
no change in my readings since the last tests 6 months
earlier, in fact very little change since first I was diagnosed
with MGUS 5 years ago,so it encourages me to carry on as usual.
Thanks for a highly informative statement;I shall try to ensure
that my diet contains plenty of chelating agents henceforward.

Best wishes,
Old Bill.
